SERVICE 06

Divorce & Family Lawyer, Koh Samui

Family matters are sensitive, and cross-border ones are complex. Jariya handles Thai and international family law with discretion, clarity and compassion.

Prenuptial and postnuptial agreements

A prenuptial agreement registered at the same time as your Thai marriage protects assets each spouse brings into the marriage. We draft bilingual, enforceable agreements that hold up under Thai law and are recognised abroad.

Uncontested and contested divorce

For amicable splits we handle an uncontested administrative divorce at the district office. Where there is disagreement over assets, maintenance or children, we represent you in the Thai courts and coordinate with lawyers in your home country when needed.

Child custody and support

We advise on parental power, custody, visitation and child-support arrangements under Thai law, always centred on the best interests of the child, and formalise agreements so they are legally enforceable.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Divorce & Family Law — FAQ

Can a foreigner get divorced in Thailand?

Yes. If you married in Thailand or your spouse is Thai, you can divorce here — administratively if uncontested, or through the courts if contested. Jariya represents you and coordinates with your home-country lawyer if needed.

Is a prenuptial agreement valid in Thailand?

Yes, if it is drafted correctly and registered together with the marriage at the district office. A prenup registered after the marriage is generally not enforceable, so timing matters. We handle it properly.
