Wills & Succession, Koh Samui

If you own a condo, a car, a bank account or company shares in Thailand, a Thai-law will spares your family a slow, foreign-language probate. Jariya makes sure your wishes are followed.

Thai-law wills for foreign assets

We draft a will governing your assets located in Thailand — property, vehicles, bank accounts and company shares — in bilingual form, so it is clear to your heirs and valid before the Thai courts. It works alongside any will you hold in your home country.

Probate and estate administration

When a loved one passes, their Thai assets usually require a court-appointed estate administrator before anything can be transferred. We handle the probate petition, represent the family, and manage the transfer of property and accounts to the rightful heirs.

Power of attorney and estate planning

We prepare powers of attorney so trusted people can act for you when you are abroad or unable to, and advise on structuring ownership now to make succession simpler and cheaper later.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Wills & Succession — FAQ

Do I need a Thai will if I already have one at home?

It is strongly recommended. A separate Thai will covering your assets in Thailand avoids your home will having to be translated, legalised and re-proven in the Thai courts, which is slow and costly for your heirs.

What happens to my Thai property if I die without a will?

Your Thai assets are distributed under Thai intestacy rules and still require court-appointed administration. A will lets you decide who inherits and speeds up the process. Jariya can draft one in a single meeting.
